My name is Johana, and I would like to tell you how I got to be a Labrador Retriever breeder.

 

My Love for dogs was inherited from my mom who has been an animal lover all her life. She had all kinds of animals as pets when she was a little girl all the way to her adulthood. Her favorites were a white Goose who she hand bathed very often to keep it stunning white, and a Siberian Husky who was also kept in an impeccable condition and unconditional love. When I was a little kid, every time I encountered a dog regardless of the size and breed, I dropped whatever I was doing to go and play with it, and I still do it. I had the opportunity to breed my childhood Dog Puky, a Brown Pinscher at my mom’s place and I can say it was the most beautiful experience to see puppies coming to our world.

 

Since then, I knew I wanted to breed. It was just a matter of having my home and deciding the breed I wanted to have first. When I was finishing up my college, I had my first encounter with a stunning Chocolate Labrador a classmate owned. I was so impressed with the size, character, and intelligence. I never saw a dog that stared into its owner’s eyes for so long and made so many face expressions almost like talking. I fell in love immediately with this breed and started my research. Years went by including moving a few times, I got married, then finally my husband Alex and I agreed to have our first puppy. Months went by doing our research for our first girl whose name we already knew when finally, we put our name on a waiting list at Stone Haven Labs. We will be always thankful to Dorothy Cavallo for our first girl and her support through this journey. Abby, our first Labrador Retriever has been a blessing to our home, the love, and the hope we continuously need to continue thriving in life, so we came out with our Kennel name Garden of Hope.
